Roll Away provides a limited warranty of 24 months or 24,000 miles (whichever occurs first) on qualifying brake pad and rotor replacement services, beginning on the original date of service.
During the warranty period, Roll Away will repair or replace any covered component determined to have failed due to defects in materials or workmanship under normal operating conditions and proper vehicle use following installation.
This warranty applies only to brake pad and rotor replacement services performed by Roll Away and is non-transferable.
Any warranty coverage provided by Roll Away shall be considered void if:
In the event warranty coverage is voided, the customer shall be responsible for the full cost of any additional parts, labor, diagnostics, or related services required.
The Roll Away warranty does not apply to, cover, or include the following conditions, situations, or components:
Roll Away is not responsible for braking concerns caused by suspension, wheel bearing, steering, tire, ABS, traction control, stability control, or other vehicle system failures unrelated to the serviced components.
Roll Away does not provide a warranty on brake pad-only repairs because replacing brake pads without replacing or properly resurfacing the rotors is not considered a complete brake replacement.
Brake pads and brake rotors work together as a matched friction surface. The brake pad presses against the rotor to slow the vehicle down. For the new brake pad to perform correctly, it needs a clean, smooth, properly measured, and properly conditioned rotor surface.
When new brake pads are installed on old rotors, the new pads are being forced to wear against a surface that may already be uneven, glazed, grooved, heat-spotted, rusted, warped, or worn too thin. Because Roll Away cannot control the condition of the old rotor surface, we cannot guarantee how the new pads will seat, wear, sound, or perform.
There are only two proper options when replacing brake pads:
Most modern brake rotors have strict minimum thickness specifications. If a rotor is already close to its minimum thickness, resurfacing it can remove too much material and leave it unable to properly absorb and release heat. A rotor that is too thin is more likely to overheat, pulsate, warp, crack, or create poor braking performance. Rotor minimum thickness must be measured, and rotors at or below discard thickness should not be reused.
Many shops no longer resurface rotors because modern rotors often have less extra material than older designs, resurfacing takes additional time, and replacement is usually the safer and more reliable option. Even when resurfacing is possible, the rotor must still remain above the required minimum thickness after machining.
Because Roll Away is a mobile brake repair company, we do not machine or resurface rotors on-site. For this reason, a pad-only repair means the new pads are being installed against the customer’s existing rotor surface as-is.
What Can Happen After a Pad-Only Brake Repair
When a customer chooses to replace brake pads without replacing or resurfacing the rotors, they may experience:
If the rotor is already damaged, uneven, glazed, grooved, heat-spotted, rusted, or warped, the new pads may quickly copy that bad surface pattern.
Roll Away does not offer warranty coverage on brake pad-only repairs because brake pads and rotors are designed to work together as a matched braking surface. Installing new brake pads on old rotors does not correct existing rotor wear, grooves, rust, glazing, heat spots, warping, thickness issues, or surface imperfections.
For a brake repair to be eligible for warranty coverage, the brake pads must be paired with new rotors supplied and installed by Roll Away. Brake pad-only repairs are considered a limited service and are performed using the customer’s existing rotor surface as-is.
By choosing a brake pad-only repair, the customer understands that they may experience brake noise, vibration, pulsation, uneven wear, reduced smoothness, premature pad wear, or other braking concerns caused by the condition of the existing rotors. These conditions are not covered under Roll Away’s warranty.
After every brake service performed by Roll Away, the vehicle is test-driven to help verify proper brake operation, confirm there are no immediate installation-related concerns, and help identify potential issues such as abnormal brake noise, vibration, pulling, or defective components.
As part of this process, Roll Away performs a brake bedding procedure commonly referred to as the “30/30/30 Rule.”
What Is Brake Bedding?
Brake bedding (also called brake break-in) is the process of gradually transferring an even layer of brake pad material onto the rotor surface through controlled heat cycles and repeated brake applications.

Brake pads and rotors are friction components that must properly mate together after installation. Even brand-new rotors are not perfectly “ready” until the pad material has been evenly transferred onto the rotor surface through normal controlled braking.
What Is the “30/30/30 Rule”?
The “30/30/30 Rule” is a gradual bedding procedure commonly used to begin properly seating new brake pads and rotors.

Why Brake Bedding Is More Effective With New Rotors

With brake pad-only services, the existing rotors have already been previously worn and conditioned by another set of brake pads. Over time, rotors develop wear patterns, heat spots, grooves, glazing, surface imperfections, and previous friction transfer layers from the old brake pads.

Important Customer Information
While Roll Away performs an initial bedding procedure and post-service test drive after installation, brake components may continue seating and adapting during normal driving over the first several hundred miles following service.
Roll Away recommends soft and gradual braking during the first approximately 200 miles after service whenever safely possible to help allow the brake pads and rotors to properly mate together and complete the bedding process.
Customers should avoid:
Some temporary odors, light smoke, or minor noise may occur during the initial bedding process as new brake components complete their heat cycles and friction transfer process. This can be considered normal during the early break-in period.

Why We Usually Use Platinum Pads
At Roll Away, we typically choose the Platinum series over the Gold series whenever available because the Platinum line includes upgraded noise-reduction technology, premium shims, and higher-end friction formulations designed for improved comfort and braking refinement.
If Platinum pads are unavailable for certain older or limited-production vehicles, we may use Carquest Gold pads, which are still considered a professional-grade brake component.
Ceramic vs. Semi-Metallic Brake Pads
For most modern passenger vehicles, Roll Away uses ceramic brake pads because they typically provide:
